About Me
~ORGANIZATIONS FUNCTION BEST AS A TEAM~
"For an organization to function most effectively, all of its working parts – departments, teams/workgroups, management and employees – need to be in synch. Current cutting-edge research has shown a remarkable impact of group drumming on our physical well-being. Employees are more content and satisfied on a day-to-day basis, which in turn shows up in a reduction in stress leave as well as higher awareness and decreased levels of work-related depression." - Corporate Training Magazine Energizing musical team building sessions take us back to our core values: Harmony, respect, communication, achieving a goal, real human contact, laughter, success in a new activity. Beyond the pure entertainment value, the benefits of my energizing session for your group are:
1. Creating unity while celebrating diversity 2. Promotes “thinking outside the box” 3. Develops leadership 4. Engages both the right & left brain 5. Develops creativity 6. Non-verbal communication skills 7. A newfound respect for everyone’s contribution |
I love to travel, to learn music & to meet people...
In my late teens, I embarked on a decade-long musical adventure around the globe & ended up studying music in 22 different countries. My quest for musical knowledge brought me to remote corners of the Amazon jungle, samba schools in Rio de Janeiro, traditional African village festivals, and Garifuna communities along the coast of Belize. In the course my studies I have learned to play more than 40 different instruments, including N'goni (Africa harp), balafon (African xylophone), Kalimba, Hang Drum, bamboo flute, Berimbau (Brazilian musical bow), Krin (slit drum), Pandeiro (Samba frame drum). Over the years, I have stayed at Steven Hawking's house, shared the stage with members of Cirque de Soleil, taught a group of billionaires at their annual retreat, performed at the Governor General's Christmas Party, and had the World Champion of Public Speaking incorporate parts of my presentation into his speech! But for me, the experience of a lifetime was most definitely performing on stage in Quebec with all three drummers from the legendary band Santana. Mind blowing,,, Based on the West Coast, I teach at the University of Victoria's School of Music, and continue to criss-cross North America and Europe, sharing the musical knowledge and life experiences that I have gathered along the road. Across Canada & the US, I have now presented to over 5000 audiences, reaching more than 250,000 people since 1991. |
